IPAS Spinoff Teraglo exhibits at IMARC

TeraGlo, an IPAS spin-off company, exhibited at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) last week. Originating from research in Prof Nigel Spooner鈥檚 Prescott Environmental Luminescence Lab (PELL) at the University of Adelaide, TeraGlo is translating fundamental photonics and quantum sensing research into practical material identification technologies.

TeraGlo鈥檚 portable, real-time analysers combine photonics, quantum sensors, and machine learning to support applications across mining, health and safety, construction, space, and defence, providing rapid and accurate insights in the field.

The company was established through collaboration between the Loughan Technology Group and the University of Adelaide鈥檚 Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS), demonstrating the pathway from lab-based research to industry-ready innovation.

The handheld device attracted strong interest from visitors, who were keen to see its capabilities firsthand and explore how Quantum AI Material Sensing (QAIMS) can transform material identification in real-world applications.听Delivering rapid, accurate insights wherever they鈥檙e needed.

The Teraglo and PELL team members present were Aaron Baensch, Tom Payten, Jillian Moffatt, Cornelia Wilske, and Erik Schartner.
