The Environment Institute congratulates Associate Professor Jeremy Austin from the University of Adelaide's Australian Centre for Ancient DNA (ACAD) on receiving a Commissioner's Certificate of Appreciation from the Queensland Police Commissioner, Ian Stewart.

Associate Professor Austin provided DNA testing to confirm the identity of Daniel Morcombe's skeletal remains. This critical piece of evidence helped return Daniel's remains to his family and led to a successful conviction for Daniel's murder.
