International recognition for green ironmaking project

An Adelaide University led project which aims to increase the quality of iron ore while reducing emissions has received a Net-Zero Industries Mission Award 2025 announced at COP30. Dr Alfonso Chinnici, A/Prof Woei Saw, Prof Nigel Cook and Prof Gus Nathan have been recognised for their work on 'Innovative Beneficiation Technologies for Green Ironmaking' receiving the National Award Australia in the category of 'Outstanding Project'.

Catalytic Hydrogen Production via Pyrolysis

In 2025, Dr Gule 'Ellena' Li was awarded an AEA Ignite grant as lead entrepreneur to accelerate the development of methane pyrolysis technology to produce hydrogen for the 'Catalytic Hydrogen Production via Pyrolysis (CHyPP)' project.
